Frequently Asked Questions
What you need to know...
01
What is therapy?
Psychotherapy is an active and collaborative process. It's not about a psychologist dictating what you should do, but rather a joint effort between you and the psychologist to explore, understand, and address your concerns.
To make psychotherapy as effective as possible, your active participation is crucial. You will be encouraged to work on the issues discussed during our sessions, both in our meetings and independently at home. This proactive involvement helps translate insights gained in therapy into meaningful changes in your daily life.
02
What can I expect to gain from therapy?
Therapy is entirely focused on your goals, which means you decide what you’d like to get out of your work together. Here are a few of the most common results people experience through therapy:
-
Improved relationship with yourself
-
Healing from trauma and grief
-
Building essential skills
-
Rewiring your nervous system
03
Do you provide services in legal proceedings?
Because my work is therapeutic in nature, I do not testify in court proceedings. I also do not give recommendations about parental custody or visitation suitability because it is out of my scope of practice.
04
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I may provide you with a document to request a refund from your insurance. It is important to note that this would mean I would have to divulge otherwise confidential information such as applicable diagnoses, duration of the treatment, etc.
