988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.

Línea PAS 1-800-981-0023 

Línea PAS is a Puerto Rico-based crisis counseling and emotional support helpline. it is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

​

Proyecto Matria 

Organization dedicated to providing support to women and the LGBTQ+ community. They have a 24/7 helpline for victims of domestic and gender-based violence.  

​

Crisis Text Line

Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, text-based mental health support and crisis intervention. Services are provided in English and Spanish.

 

2-1-1 Helpline United Way of Puerto Rico

Connect with around 4,000 private and government institutions with resources that address problems such as the need for medical equipment, substance use unemployment, gender violence,  abandonment of the elderly, lack of housing, clothing or food, among others. Service is available Monday through Friday from 8 am-5 pm. 

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD)

CHADD empowers people affected by ADHD by providing evidence-based information; supporting individuals, their families, and professionals who assist them throughout their journeys, and advocating for their rights.

Anxiety and Depression Association of America

ADAA is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and cure of anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders through aligning research, practice and education.

​

National Eating Disorder Association

NEDA supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders and serves as a catalyst for prevention, cures and access to quality care.

​

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance

The DBSA provides help, support, and educational resources to those suffering from mood disorders. The organization is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and offers access to peer support services and mental health resources.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

AFSP is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education, and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.

Autism Society

Connects people to the resources they need through education, advocacy, support, and information. 

​

International OCD Foundation

The IOCDF provides up-to-date education, resources, and support to those affected by OCD.

​

National Institute of Mental Health

NIMH is a US government institution that studies mental health conditions. Check them out for basic information on a wide range of mental health topics, including conditions, treatments, therapies, and more.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

This agency focuses on mental health, substance misuse, and recovery. 

​

Mental Health America

MHA is a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to promoting overall mental health. MHA is a great place to be connected to a warmline—a phone number you can call just to talk about your mental health or get support.

​

The Trevor Project

A nonprofit that supports the mental health of LGBTQ+ teens and youth. They offer a 24/7 help line and an online community to connect with other LGBTQ+ youth.

​

National Alliance on Mental Health

NAMI is a nonprofit dedicated to reducing stigma and providing resources about mental illness. It has lots of excellent information about how to live with a mental health condition.

 

The Mighty

The Mighty is a website devoted to sharing the stories of people living with disabilities and chronic illnesses. They have a section on mental health that includes personal essays, advice columns, and news stories.

Es Mental

A Puerto Rico-based digital magazine dedicated to topics of emotional well-being, mental health, and human relationships. They  provide tools practical advice from professionals to face the constant challenges of the different stages of life.
