About Me

I am a clinical psychologist, educator, and consultant with extensive experience working with diverse populations. In private practice, I work with individuals and couples struggling with inner conflicts such as depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma with the goal of supporting them toward leading healthier, more authentic, and fulfilling lives. My experience in primary care settings as part of my work with Pravan Health, a concierge medical service located in Puerto Rico, allows me to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare and wellness professionals with the goal of providing a truly holistic experience.

In education, I’ve worked with independent schools, universities, and other corporations in Puerto Rico as an instructor, mental health services provider, curriculum developer, and inclusion specialist. I also collaborate with the Psychology Program of the College Board, the Educational Testing Service, and the American Psychological Association in different roles and initiatives related to education and mental health.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. I hold a Master of Science in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My area of research focused on multiculturalism, identity, and its relationship to mental health.

I am passionate about bringing psychology to my community through education and empowerment. I’ve had the privilege of serving as President of the School Psychology Association of Puerto Rico and have represented the island with the National Association of School Psychologists. I volunteer with United Way of Puerto Rico to provide pro-bono psychoeducational services for at-risk communities all over the island. I'm also a frequent speaker at diverse community-based organizations.

I believe that balance is key for a healthy, sustainable life. I love traveling and discovering new places. Photography and writing nourish my soul. Reading is one of my first loves and I love adding to my eclectic collection of historical fiction, spirituality, anthologies, and of course, psychology books. My kitchen is one of my happy places and I love to try out recipes from my collection of over 100 cookbooks. You can check out some of my creations on my blog Aventuras en Foodielandia. I also enjoy creating content that helps make some space for our souls to breathe. You can check that out in social media at Terapia for the Soul.
